Dee grew up in the Buffalo area in Western New York always knowing she wanted to make a difference. She learned about the global community, diversity and acceptance of others at an early age as her family hosted people from around the world.  By 11th grade Dee was teaching Sunday school and the church was sending her off for christian education leadership training.

Dee has a degree from Buffalo State in Social Work. During seminary, she became aware of the Diaconal servant ministry and it made sense for her. She became a Diaconal Minister and when the roles changed in the church structure became a Deacon. She is ordained clergy as a Permanent Deacon in the Western New York Conference as well as certified in Christian Education and Youth Ministry.

After several positions including Christian Educator, Hospice Chaplain, Associate Minister, Program Director, Dee now serves at Greece UMC. Dee has worked with youth at the District level and local churches to train them for leadership. She has been highly involved with District Youth programs in Syracuse, Buffalo and Rochester. She has worked with the Conference Youth (CCYM), Jurisdictional Youth Ministry, as well as National Youth Ministry leadership for many years. She continues to support youth getting involved in leadership and activities outside the church. The youth she influences bring back who they have become to the local church youth ministry.

Dee believes we can make a difference in the world starting with us reaching out to those right beside us. We can help ourselves by helping others and being a good neighbor.
